Marginal Notes started because I kept having thoughts that didn't fit anywhere else—research rabbit holes, drafting spirals, the questions I haven't answered yet either. This is where those go.

I'm not interested in a polished, curated version of "working on a novel." This is the real one: the chapters I've rewritten three times, the historical detail I fell down a hole researching for six hours, the days I ask myself why this story picked me and not the other way around.
